The parents sponsorship program for the year 2022 is now open. IRCC has started to send invitations to potential sponsors for PGP 2022 effective October 12,2022.These invitations for the parents sponsorship program 2022 will be sent out for two weeks to invite 23,100 applicants. The remaining pool of potential sponsors is 155,313 from the year 2020.For PGP 2022, you can only apply to sponsor your parents and grandparents if you receive the email from IRCC that you are selected.Parents and grandparents sponsorship program (PGP 2022) is a very popular program. The deadline to apply for PGP 2022,if you are selected, is December 24,2022.The applications should be submitted online via the IRCC permanent residence portal.If you are unable to apply online , contact IRCC via an email address provided on their official website.
To be eligible for this PGP 2022 program, sponsors have to meet the income requirement for the past 3 years based on the family size.Your spouse or common law partner can co-sign on the sponsorship application to help meet the income requirement. To calculate your family size, you have to include the following:
– Yourself
– Your spouse or common-law partner
– Your dependent children
– The applicant and their dependent children
– An other person you and your co-signer have sponsored in the past for whom you are still financially responsible

Due to the pandemic situation, the income requirement for the year 2020 and 2021 has been reduced for the parents permanent residence program.
