Visitors are persons who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, and are legally authorized to enter Canada to:

  • Visit Canada on holiday (vacation),
  • Visit family,
  • Conduct business, etc.

A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), also referred to as a visitor visa, is an official document issued by a Canadian Visa office that is stamped in your passport to show that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident. On Visitor visa, person can stay in Canada Upto 6 months. CIC has also introduced a Sub-category which is called as Parents and Grandparents Super Visa. There is not much difference between Visitor visa and Super visa but a person on Super visa can stay in Canada upto 2 years and only permanent residents or Canadian citizens can apply for super visa for Parents and Grand-Parents only. Visitors are not allowed to work or study in Canada.
